RT @Max_Fisher: How did I miss this amazing photo of Christian Bale giving Chen Guangcheng a weirdly mom-like hug?

[in exchange] for this so-called freedom, [they] all lose their home.

This tweet was posted as Chen Guangcheng and his family arrived in the United States. Some observers have questioned whether or not they will be permitted to return to China.

This sudden crowd of fifty centers tweeting about Chen Guangcheng is really upsetting some people. Stupid cunts, if you @ me again, I'll just have to discuss Chen Guangcheng properly.

Wang Lijun observes Chen Guangcheng and regrets that before leaving voluntarily, he somehow never expressed a desire to study at West Point Military Academy.

Wang Lijun was vice-mayor and head of the PSB in Chongqing under Bo Xilai. On 6 February, he visited the US Consulate in Chengdu, leaving of his own volition approximately 24 hours later.

The United States Military Academy at West Point is a service academy located in New York.

May 5. 2:21am I received a text from Liu Yanping: I was just released. Because I gave a birthday cake to Chen Guangcheng's son this afternoon I was carried into the hospital by 7, 8 plainclothes policemen and security guards. Later I was questioned at Hujialou police station for 9 hours, suspected of disturbing social order. Thanks.

For more than a week now, the whole world have been debating what the blind man really saw

.."the Chinese Government has indicated that it will accept Chen's applications for appropriate travel documents. The United States Government expects that the Chinese Government will expeditiously process his applications for these documents and make accommodations for his current medical condition. The United States government would then give visa requests for him and his immediate family priority attention. This matter has been handled in the spirit of a cooperative U.S.-China partnership" the Americans said.

U.S. State Department's spokeperson Victoria Nuland's statement about Chen Guangcheng: "Today the Chinese government said that Chen Guangcheng enjoys the same right to travel abroad as any other citizens of China. An American university has offered Mr. Chen a fellowship and he can be accompanied by his wife and two children". Ai Weiwei, Lu Qing, Liu Xiaoyuan, Mo Da etc. don't have this right.
